Justin Cook; The Jester

I was born in Demorest, Ga and have lived in Habersham County all my life. As a kid, I did not have many friends. In fact, I was sometimes the victim of various bullies throughout my childhood. For those reasons, I turned to the world of comic books. I still remember the first one I begged my mother to buy for me. It was Superman #97, in February 1995. I knew of Superman but never read the books. The story followed Superman fighting this guy, who you could consider a bully, and preventing him from causing a lot of destruction and mayhem. Superman won of course, but the great thing about the big guy in blue was that he still showed compassion for the bad guy, despite what he had sone. As I read more and more, I decided I wanted to be Superman when I grew up. Of course, like any kid would, I wanted the powers and the cool costume; but most importantly I strived to be the man behind the suit. Now as an adult, I would like to think I have lived up to my younger self's dream. I do my best to be like Superman and help those in need, regardless of their story. That is why I joined Heroes In Force; to help the community and continue to better myself and those around me. Yes, it is cool to dress up and be a super hero for a while, and the look on kids (and adults) faces makes it all worth while.
